هگزان یک هیدروکربن متشکل از شش اتم کربن بدون شاخه با فرمول مولکولی C۶H۱۴ است. اصطلاح Hexane می‌تواند به هر یک از پنج ایزومر ساختاری با این فرمول یا مخلوطی از آن‌ها اشاره کند. این ماده یک مولکول غیرقطبی است؛ یعنی برهم‌کنش‌های بین مولکولی ضعیفی بین مولکول‌های این ماده در حالت مایع خالص رخ می‌دهد.
